Winter is officially here in Chicago, and one of the things I find myself lacking every year is the ‘perfect’ jacket for running around town. I don’t want to schlep to the grocery store or preschool pick-up in my peacoat or my ski jacket. I need a ‘girl about town’ coat.
The first type of jacket that comes to mind (and that I see everywhere here in Chicago and in the ‘burbs) is a Moncler. These coats are lightweight and don’t bulk you up, but keep you SUPER toasty. Perfect for our weather. However, the price tag is not-so-perfect at $1425.00. Hmph.
I came up with some fabulous alternatives though for those who are a little more price-conscious like myself – some of which just might be on my Christmas wish list!
How cute is this Lulu Lemon jacket – stylish, warm, and not too puffy! The body has the warm down filling, but the arms are their signature luon fabric.
Another great Lulu find is this Turn Around Jacket for $198. It’s reversible (see both pictures), has the down filling and is also not too puffy! Comes in blue, black and white.
Shockingly, I also love this North Face number I found at Nordstrom. It’s just the right amount of ski-parka chic combined with street-saavy cool.
Finally, this Tahari jacket might be just the ticket. You can’t beat $178 for something this warm and chic. The belted waist is a must to keep things from being too bulky.
I would love any suggestions or help finding the ‘perfect’ girl-about-town jacket, so please comment and let me know if there’s something you LOVE!!!!
